Confirmed: River to Face San Lorenzo

With all eight groups of the Copa Libertadores 2008 finalized, the eight match-ups for the Round of Sixteen of the most important tournament in the Americas have been confirmed. River Plate have finished as the third best team in the general rankings, and will therefore face Argentine neighbors San Lorenzo. It will be an extremely tough 180 minutes, but to win the Copa you must have the ability to get through all the teams.
The next round of the Copa Libertadores will look as follows:

Fluminense (BRA) vs. Atletico Nacional (COL)
Flamengo (BRA) vs. America (MEX)
River Plate (ARG) vs. San Lorenzo (ARG)
Atlas (MEX) vs. Lanus (ARG)
Cruzeiro (BRA) vs. Boca Juniors (ARG)
Estudiantes (ARG) vs. LDU Quito (ECU)
Cucuta Deportivo (COL) vs. Santos (BRA)
Sao Paulo (BRA) vs. Nacional (URU)

*The full bracket is available here.

An interesting observation is that, depending on the final results of these eight games, we could just well see an all-Argentine/Brazilian Quarter-Finals.
